Meet Rufus, the hawk who has flown over Wimbledon every day for 18 years to chase away pigeons

Rufus, Wimbledon’s famous Harris’s hawk, has spent 18 years protecting the All England Club from pigeons. Starting work around 4am, he patrols courts and rooftops during the Championships and has even become a fan favourite. His extraordinary career includes surviving a 2012 kidnapping, while despite growing interest in drone technology, Wimbledon has no plans to replace its beloved feathered employee.
